Photography Competition 2020 — Results!

The results of the Friends of Forest Farm Photography Competition 2020 — held to celebrate the group’s 30th anniversary — are in!

The competition was judged by Alec Stewart, a Park Ranger based at Forest Farm. Alec is an accomplished photographer and veteran of many photography competitions.

After making his selections, Alec said,

I was very pleased to be able to judge the Forest Farm wildlife photography competition. Well done to all for entering and taking part.

The task was made difficult due to the number of high quality images on show and it took me a while to select the winners. As the standard was so good I added some Highly Commended ones as well.

I judged on technical quality, composition and pictorial impact. Also, of course, I had to make sure they were relevant for inclusion in a calendar about Forest Farm.

In the end it mostly comes down to personal likes, but I think all the winners and highly commended stood out as first class pictures.

We’re now sorting out getting the calendar printed. As soon as we have details of how to buy one we’ll let everyone know via the usual channels — eg, on this website, Facebook, Twitter, and an email to our members.

Without further ado, the Winners are:

  • Ade Ward – Canal
  • Andre Van De Sande – Fungi and Long-Tailed Tit
  • Anthony Matthews – Woodpecker and Fox
  • Stephen Turner – Heron and Robin
  • Gabi Simon – Rabbits
  • Nick Dallimore – Snake
  • Frank Sengpiel – Dragonfly
  • Cliff Woodhead – Poppy
  • Rhodri Watkins – Blue Tit
